Any advice?

At 19 months Alison thought she was a big shot and wanted to use the big girl potty. I was thrilled, but less than thrilled to put in the effort to actually train her. She actually would go #1 & #2 though and I was proud of my little munchkin.
Over time Alison no longer wants anything to do with it. I have officially missed my window of opportunity!! Now she says she wants to go, but sits down and gets up 2 seconds later. She knows their is a treat waiting for her if she actually goes but she won't do it. Last night I decided to put the seat on our toilet in hopes of something "different". So far she sits a long time on it, but still won't "go". I have prizes for her if she goes #2 and I have her occasionally in training pants that have Dora on them. She knows she shouldn't potty on Dora so I'm hoping this will work. I'm giving her lots to drink as well. Being a working mom, this is very hard to stay consistent. Any suggestions??

26 Weeks and GROWING...and not JUST the baby.

Ali's first "trim"

I'm not sure if everyone yet knows, but my sister and her husband Jeremy decided it was best for their family to move back to Chicago to continue their careers. We are happy for them since it truly is the best move, however we will really miss them. Jen surprised me last week by saying she wanted to take her boys over to my house to swim in the kiddie pool. That lasted approximately 15 minutes because everyone was apparently scared of the wasp next lurking close by...so we proceeded back inside for naps. After a great afternoon together and the kids woke up Jen thought it would be fun to straighten Alison's curly Shirley Temple hair. We laughed until we cried when she was done because she had such a mullet. Jen decided to give her a tiny trim to even things out a little. Straightening her hair will not be an everyday event since she really does not have the patience without Jelly Beans, but here was the end result.

Welcome Gwen Ella Berkompas

Our neice, Gwen Ella, was born July 18. She is such a sweet little peanut. She is a couple of weeks old already and has changed so much, but I'm posting a couple of her "brand new to the world" pictures for everyone to see. Children are such a blessing and I thank God for each of them.
